From yarn sourcing and gauge selection to sampling, knitting, linking, finishing and bulk production, we support custom knitted-top development. See how our OEM and ODM process works, or read about our sample development stage.
NOVITA develops custom knitted tops from your mood board or yarn request: cotton blends, acrylic, wool mixes and recycled yarns on request. Our technicians match gauge, stitch density and finishing to your target price band — and show you the math.
Yarn sourcing leverages Foshan and Guangzhou supply chains for short lead times; sampling in 7–14 days, bulk production 60 days after sample approval.
Gauge is the fineness of the knitting machine — needles per inch — and it drives hand feel, stitch definition and the price band. The gauges we run most for knitted tops:
Gauge is not the same as garment weight. A 12GG knit in a heavy cotton yarn can weigh more than a 7GG knit in a light acrylic — weight comes from yarn count and stitch density, so we confirm both from your tech pack rather than from the gauge number alone.
Yarn and structure decide the hand feel. Cotton blends knit crisp and stable, acrylic holds colour and shape at a lower cost, wool mixes add warmth, and recycled yarns are available on request. Rib, links-links, open weave and jacquard each change the drape and the yield per garment, so the structure is agreed before costing.
Crewneck sweaters, cardigans, sweater vests, half-zip knits and knit polos, plus chenille varsity knits and open-weave summer styles. See the full process in our knitted tops manufacturing guide. For approval records, use the fabric pilling guide and seam construction guide.
We knit 3GG, 5GG, 7GG and 12GG. Gauge is machine fineness, not garment weight — we confirm yarn count and stitch density from your tech pack. See our knit structure and gauge guide for a more detailed buyer checklist.
Our MOQ starts from 100 pieces per style and colour, with mixed sizes allowed. Our clothing MOQ guide explains when custom yarn, colour or trim requirements affect minimum quantities. See our custom clothing MOQ guide for a more detailed buyer checklist.
Sampling usually takes 7–14 days. Bulk production takes 60 days after sample approval, depending on yarn availability and order quantity. Every bulk lot is checked against the approved sample using our quality control checklist.
Yes. We run intarsia, jacquard, argyle, links-links and textured stitches, and can knit chenille lettering for varsity-style sweaters.
