Denim choice drives how a pair of jeans looks, feels and wears. Three decisions should be settled before a sample is cut: the fabric composition and weight, the wash direction, and the shrinkage behaviour that the pattern must allow for.
Weight is the fastest way to align a fabric with the intended product. Lightweight denim around 9–10 oz gives a softer hand and a relaxed drape, while 11–12 oz constructions hold a firmer silhouette and suit structured fits. Stretch content, weave and finishing all change the final result, so the target weight is confirmed style by style rather than assumed from a reference image.
Wash is a development step, not a colour code. A light stone wash, a rinse, a raw indigo finish or a distressed treatment each require a different wash recipe and a different level of fabric loss. Where the appearance matters, send a physical reference garment or clear wash images with the target fabric so the wash direction can be reviewed during development and confirmed before bulk production.
On denim, the visible construction is the specification. Waistband build, pocket placement, rise, leg shape and stitch density all read on the finished garment, and each of them has to be written down before sampling so the sample can serve as the working reference for bulk production.
Confirm the waistband height and closure, belt-loop spacing, pocket shape and depth, fly construction, leg shape through thigh and hem, and the thread colour and stitch type used on the visible seams. Rivets, shank buttons, zips, patches and labels are reviewed in the same pass, because a hardware change late in development can move the sample approval date.
The denim path follows our garment manufacturing process, with wash and hardware decisions added at the development stage. The steps below are the working sequence for a jeans order.
Send the style reference, size range, measurement chart, target denim, wash direction, quantity, branding requirements, destination and required timing. We review whether the information is complete enough to source materials and start sampling.
Denim weight and composition, wash direction, trims, hardware and construction details are confirmed together. Missing or conflicting instructions are resolved before the first sample is cut, so the sample is not delayed by decisions that should have been made earlier.
Sample development normally takes 7–14 days after the required specifications and materials are confirmed. The sample is reviewed for fit, measurements, workmanship, wash appearance and branding, and it becomes the approved reference for production. Approved measurements, construction details, materials, trims, labels, hangtags, wash references and packing instructions are recorded in one consolidated specification. Bulk production starts from that document, not from memory or from a series of chat messages.
Bulk production normally takes 25–45 days after the sample, materials, order details and deposit are confirmed. The actual schedule depends on the style, fabric, quantity, wash requirements and the production plan in place at the time. Final inspection is carried out to AQL 2.5 against the approved sample, and international transit time is calculated separately from the production period.

Custom jeans orders start from 100 pieces per style and colour. The workable quantity still depends on the confirmed denim, wash, trims, hardware, construction and size breakdown, so it is confirmed with the quotation.

Yes. Leg shape is a pattern and grading decision, so wide-leg, straight, relaxed and tapered fits can all be developed from the same brief as long as the measurements and intended fit are defined in the size chart.
