Product Description & Development Brief
These images show a development reference. The material, measurements, construction and final shade are agreed for your project and checked on the approved sample. Browse the custom cargo pants range to compare other starting directions.
For an elastic-waist style without thigh cargo pockets, compare Elastic Waist Casual Pants. If you need a baggy cargo option with an open hem, review Baggy Cargo Pants and mark the differences to carry into your sample brief.
Cargo jogger construction: cuffs, waist and pocket balance
This tapered cargo jogger combines an adjustable waist, flapped thigh pockets and elasticated ankle cuffs. Those three elements have to work together. Narrow cuffs change how the leg stacks above footwear, while the pocket bag adds weight at the thigh. For sampling, approve the cuff fit and waistband extension separately rather than treating all elastic sections as one interchangeable specification.
| Buyer decision | Specify or check |
|---|---|
| Ankle cuff range | Record cuff opening at rest and at the agreed stretch condition, plus cuff depth and elastic width. |
| Tapered leg | Measure knee, lower leg and inseam in the approved base size so fabric gathers at the ankle as intended. |
| Waist and drawcord | Define relaxed and extended waistband values, drawcord exit point and the required finishing of exposed ends. |
| Cargo flaps | Specify flap coverage, pocket opening and closure method; check interference during walking or sitting. |
| Elastic recovery | Decide how cuff and waist recovery will be evaluated after wear and agreed care procedures. |
Review the sample standing, sitting and walking. The cuff should hold the intended appearance without unnecessary ankle pressure; pocket flaps should stay balanced as the leg bends. If your brand wants an open hem instead, compare elastic-waist casual pants. For wash-sensitive programs, the buyer can ask for dimensional-change evaluation using ISO 5077, subject to an agreed procedure and acceptance requirement.
Questions buyers ask
Can the waistband and ankle cuffs use the same elastic specification? Not automatically. Required stretch, comfort and recovery differ by location.
What should be approved first? Confirm the wearer fit and cuff opening with the selected fabric before locking the graded pattern and pocket placement.
Sizing & Measurements
Provide the waist measurement method, front and back rise, hip, thigh, knee, inseam and hem opening. Identify the base size and size range, and mark the fit details to keep or change from the reference. For elasticated waists or cuffs, agree how the relaxed and extended measurements are taken. Use the tech pack preparation checklist to document these measurements and construction details.
Sample Approval & Quality Checks
Review the worn fit, pocket access, closure function and appearance after the agreed care process. Keep the measurement chart, selected materials and approved sample version together. Our sample development guide explains the approval sequence.
